This version is for Mac OS 8.5 and above only. If you're using Mac OS 8.0 or 8.1 you should use version 1.3.7 instead.
What does “Wapp pro” do?
"Wapp pro" is a window switcher. It displays a menu with every window opened in every application. You can now easily switch to any window (even in the hidden applications).
But that's not all : "Wapp pro" is more than a simple window switcher :
- You can quit or hide an application with a single click (or with a single key press) without having to switch to it. You can also quit all the applications (except the ones you have chosen, like SpeedDoubler…) or hide them.
- You can set an auto-hide on switch function to hide the last application when switching to a new one.
- You can navigate through the window list or through the application list with the keyboard.
- You have three special ways of invoking the Wapp pro menu : click&hold in a window's title bar, click everywhere with modifiers keys, and click in hot spots...
And more features that you can discover in the control panel…
And everything is fully customizable to perfectly fit your needs…
Requirements : Mac OS 8.5 or better

Bugs and comments
Send me bug reports, comments or suggestions by e-mail.
Shareware
"Wapp pro" is $10 shareware because I spent many hours to develop it.
It means you can try it out freely during a period of 30 days. After that period, if you decide to keep Wapp pro, you are required to pay $10. It's cheap and has many features, so please, if you decide to keep Wapp pro, support the shareware concept and pay your fee. It enables you to use ANY future version of Wapp pro and it helps me to develop more cool stuff.
Registering
You have several choices to register :
• you can register online by credit card, US check or cash (in many currencies) at http://order.kagi.com/?Q7R&S for secure connection or http://order.kagi.com/?Q7R for non-secure connection.
• or you can send me $10 CASH to my postal address. But this will be longer to process your registration…
Distribution
"Wapp pro" may be freely distributed via electronic bulletin boards, user groups and person to person. When distributed, all accompanying files are to be distributed too.
"Wapp pro" can be put on any site or included on any CD-ROM, but please tell me if you do, so I can send updated versions when available.

- Rewrote entirely the Hide, Hide Others, Hide All and Auto-hide functions. It's now faster and more efficient.

April, 2000: Version 2.6
• The help commands from Eudora 4.2+ still didn't work properly. Thus, the "Update App Switcher Info" command is no longer located in the Help menu. Instead, it can be found at the end of Wapp pro's menu when (and only when) you hold down the control key before activating Wapp pro's menu. Be careful, this command WILL NOT appear in the Applications Menu. It is only available in Wapp pro's menu !!
• Shortcuts for Quit All, Hide All, Quit Others and Hide Others were working even if the commands (but not the shortcuts) were disabled in the control panel. Fixed.
• Rewrote the code for Hide All and Hide Others commands. Previously, it was sometimes necessary to invoke the commands twice to hide all the apps.
• Added two new options to hide applications when switching using Wapp pro's menu. When the auto-hide function is not enabled, holding down some modifier keys while selecting an application in Wapp pro's menu can hide the last app, or hide all the others apps.

September, 1999: Version 2.3
Completely changed the behavior of the "Auto-hide" feature to something far more useful:
- the option to hide all the other apps when switching has been removed as it wasn't useful, and thus used by nobody.
- the "Auto-hide" feature can now be applied to all switchs, or only to switches made by selecting an item of Wapp pro's menu (including keyboard navigation)
When the Embedded feature is enabled, the front application is no more underlined in the appliations menu, but checked as in the standard application menu.
The correction of the "Default Folder problem" introduced a new problem when switching to a window of a hidden application. Fixed.

Corrected a problem with resizing the Application Switcher palette.
I removed the memory info for the Finder in the Application Switcher menu as it has been confusing for some people.
Fixed a small memory leak in the control panel.
September, 1999: Version 2.2.1
Due to an incompatibility with Mercutio MDEF, applications that used this MDEF couldn't quit anymore with Command Q. To correct this, I had to remove the shortcuts that appeared in Wapp pro's menu for Quit All, Hide All..... The shortcuts still work but simply don't appear anymore in the menu.
Corrected a problem with the display of shortcuts for Quit All, Hide All..... in the control panel. Depending on your keyboard configuration you might not have experienced this problem.
September, 1999: Version 2.2
The "Commands" pane has been completely changed with new features added :
- the commands "Quit All", "Hide All", "Quit Others" and "Hide Others" can now have shortcuts.
- you can choose to have to confirm your action each time you select "Quit All" or "Quit Others" command. An alert dialog will then appear asking you to confirm the action.
The control panel has received a new lifting with enhanced feature explanations.
The reminder message now only appears after the 30 days of trial.
Corrected a problem with handling clicks in the Application Switcher palette.
August, 1999: Version 2.1
• New features :
- Once again I reorganised the control panel, with a new pane called "Advanced". Things should be clearer now.
- Wapp pro can now make the difference between two copies of the same application running at the same time. But for that, THE NAMES HAVE TO BE DIFFERENT.
- Added the option of auto-hiding the previous application when switching applications with Wapp pro's menu or with the keyboard shorcuts (This ONLY applies when using Wapp pro's menus or Wapp pro's keyboard cycling shortcuts. If you activate an application by the Application Switcher or directly by clicking in one of its windows, the previous application will NOT be hidden).
- You can now have the normal Wapp pro's menu AND the embedded menu at the same time.
- Added an option to display the popup menu as a copy of the Applications menu instead of Wapp pro's standard menu.
- Added a new shortcut to switch to the previously frontmost application.
- Added an option to completely enable/disable Navigation Services enhancement.

- Fixed a problem in the control panel with the when entering bad shortcuts.
- Corrected a problem with the shareware reminder.
July, 1999: Version 2.0
The real new important feature is that control-clicking or clicking&holding on a button from the application switcher window will bring a popup menu with the windows of the specific application.
50% of the code has been rewritten from the ground.
Now choosing Hide will hide the application in the background, without switching to it before hiding, like it was the case in older versions.
A new set of exclusion to exclude applications from being hidden when using the "Hide All" or "Hide Others" functions has been added.
Now the exclusions for "Quit All" apply to both "Quit All" and "Quit Others" which is more logical.
The code for showing popmenus at hot spots or by a set of modifier keys has been rewritten as well due to some problems with some system configurations.
